This voluptuous, English Cottage Garden is inspired by gardens in Oxford. There’s old-fashioned roses, foxglove, mock orange, delphinium, phlox, lavender, catnip, brimstone butterfly, bee, Jersey Tiger moth, cabbage butterfly, dragonfly and a ladybird. Designed to a brief with the trend Boho Exotica. Now it’s available at Ohh Deer as a cushion cover!
Bright colours and bold shapes, what a happy mood!
Here's my collection of surface patterns for the bolt fabric market. The design is based on my jelly sketches and take their cue from the curves of jelly moulds and the glossy shine on the gelatine. This presentation includes two coordinating patterns and my juicy colour palette.
These patterns would be perfect for a party!
Here are a few photos from the Christmas Market. From the early morning when we unpacked our handmade designer products, to the afternoon when lights went on.
Anne is so ingenious and has such attention to detail, for example I love how she's made ribbons of spare strips of fabrics and the fish bookmarks she's designed are so delightful!
With just a couple of days left to go, everything is falling into place for the Christmas Market where Anne Vilemsons and I will be offering our handmade design products.
Anne has been designing and sewing beautiful work (like the chef's apron shown on the right) and I've been creating Christmas cards and mini prints.
The market hasn't even started, but Anne has already sold a few pieces! Several tea towels and this wonderful tote bag. She's also received a few commissions for design products made to measure!
Anne is so creative and bursting with positive energy and ideas, and it's such a joy working together.
So yes, where did I begin again? Winter lights and laundry labels? Yes, that's right, I came home late after a big battle with the printer over printing laundry labels and decorated the balcony with winter lights. What a difference it makes!
Hope you can pop by and see us at the market!
Starkis. Contemporary and Unique Works of Fabric
Last week I helped my friend Anne Vilemsons of Starkis put together her new business website. Anne designs and makes unique, contemporary work of fabric and offers curtains made to measure. She's got a waiting list for curtains, and you can sign up here to order yours.
Beauty and function meet in Anne's unique collection of bespoke pieces that give you pleasure in your daily life. At the Christmas Market we'll be introducing her new collection of unique hand-made bags, cushion covers, tea towels and napkins made of fabrics that I've designed.
Starkis' Visual Identity
For Starkis' brand identity system I've put together colour, typography, photography, patterns, icons and illustrations to convey her brand's values and personality to the world. The graphic language can be used for print and digital media and can be put together in different ways, while maintaining a strong brand identity.
The result is a combination of graphic elements that express a timeless, contemporary, energetic, bold and creative free spirit.
Check out Anne's new business site Starkis and say hello!
Anne is making tea towels, tote bags and table cloths with the surface patterns that I designed for the French Collection, (a series of surface patterns available for wallpaper, fabric and gift wrap). We'll be showing you some sneak peeks here on the blog.
We'll be at Hornstulls Julmarknad, an open-air market inspired by bohemian Camden Market in London, on the 1st of December between 11 am and 4 pm. The sprawling market is located in the western part of Södermalm in Stockholm and serves a smörgåsbord of street culture. Wander round and explore the stalls with gourmet street food, antiques, vintage, fashion, art and craft. Come and find us there!
